I picked up this new cat at an LFS in consolation (they ran out of Northern Pike :swear: ) they called it a marmorata cat, I think its a Jaguar cat but not sure. has the same body shape as a red-tailed cat, but I'm assuming it doesn't get as big or as problematic, or i probably would have heard more about it. He was only $14.99, so I figure that was decent price for a cool-looking cat. I know it's a teribble pic, but I'll try for a better one today.

It looks to me like it might be a Perruno cat, Perrunichthys Perruno. They are superficially similar to the Leiairus marmoratus but look more marbled and less spotted. I'll see if I can't find a picture on google that shows the differences.

Edit: Actually, in looking at the picture again, I would say it's a marbled cat, leiarius marmoratus. I used to have one that was about 15". He ended up eating 3 freshwater barracudas so I gave him to a buddy with a 240. Last I had heard it was 20" long. I believe they max out at about 24". I think they are awesome cats and will probably pick up another one when my dat is bigger.

yup, looks like a perruno cat.. they max out at 24" and grow like weeds from what i've heard :)

dont think its a perruno, their tail doesnt come up like that. probs mamoratus
