Hello everybody,

Haven't posted in awhile but been looking. Ok so i'm going home this sunday and i get to see my marulius again. last time i saw my marulius it was abt 4 inches and scared as hell. Was also temporaryily being kept with my bleheri, a lot of you were right, it got eaten the day before it was suppose to be moved out. But ohw ell. The problem is my dad keeps telling me is that the fish is still super skittish he says its a lot bigger now but still always hides. I was having this problem before i left and attributed it to a new fish in a new tank. But its still scared. I'm thinking when i go back i'm gonna try buy some plants for the tank that float on the surface blocking out more light. And do add to everything as soon as i get back home i'm moving house. Basically my two questions are,

1. Is marulius known to be shy?
2. Any tips on moving an already skittish fish?

THANKS

Will have pics of my monster by next week!

These fish prefer deep clear stretches of water with sandy or rocky bottoms. If you wanna block light without the plant hassle try putting a regular window screen between the lights and water surface. Maybe cut a few holes in it in various spots. As for removing a skittish fish. I would suggest not doing it at all as he is probably already stressed. Try to find what is making him skittish and remove the cause. Hope you have a quarentine tank. Take the cause out for a few days and observe. If your marulius seems to settle down wait a while and try reintroducing the cause. See what happens. Maybe even upon re-introducing you could put up a tank divider so they can see and sense each other without interacting. Try this for awhile and then remove the divider. What size is your tank and how big is this fish?
