Maskaheros argentea lighting

Hey guys just wondering what lights those of you keeping argentea use. I've so far tried a 7500k stingray as well as beamsworks in 6500k and 10000k.

Mine is about 5" now and is a nice looking fish imo, but some of the pictures/videos I've seen online seem to really show a lot of the subtle purple/green shimmering hues more. Seems the higher I go kelvin wise the more I'm able to see on mine. Are people using 12-18k lights on this fish to really bring out the color?

Agree, back ground makes a huge difference in appearance

After needing to move my male to save the female, to a tank with a lighter background, it didn't look as nice

I don't have argentea (yet), but I've been using rgb led floodlights on my aquariums for a few years now. I love the dramatic effect of 25w floods on my big tanks, and the colors they bring out are so much better than the mostly white led fixtures.


And they grow plants too.
My festae tank is 210g and the planted tank is 75g.
