I have a couple of questions about my stand and filter. Last week, my filter started acting stupid. It sounds like it was having convulsions or something. Before that, it began to leak pretty bad. I am out of a filter on my 75 turtle tank and the dude at API said it would be about 2 weeks to get it back. What can I do about the no filtration thing?!Also, I'm guessing that it is because of the leaking, my tank stand has began to grow mold pretty bad. Will the mold hurt my stand? And how can I get rid of it?! It just keeps coming back!!

if it's a warranty issue, ask for a manager and ask for an express replacement. If its something you caused and they're helping out, get another filter in the interim.
However, it sounds like you need to tear down your setup and deal with the mold. Forget the stand, that mold has the potential to harm you and anyone else in your living space. There are several treatment solutions that should take care of it and most of the time the stand is still perfectly fine.
you typically can put the tank on the floor in a garage in the meantime and then put the temp filter on or an express replacement and then put it all back together as it was once the mold/warranty has been dealt with.

For the mold...treat it with bleach. As for the filter....Get a cheap H.O.B. and do some water changes/gravel vac. 2 or three times a week. I keep turtles in a large set-up, and have since I was around 13 (I'm now 25)...It will work until the filter gets back. Also, I recommend the SunSun cannister filters w/ built-in UV from Ebay--- The ones I have are 5 stage and run @ 565 GPH and were around $100--- This thing keeps my turtle tank crystal clear and CLEAN.
