ok i have this wacky idea for a sump for a tank im hoping to build. my tank will br about 640g, and i was thinking of getting 2 of these
http://boston.craigslist.org/nwb/grd/2084995377.html
one will be elevated and will have all my bio media (buckets and buckets of bioballs and scrubbies) and another lower as a water resivoir with my return pump in it. i will be cutting through the cage and the plastic part to take the top off and leave it open (only way it will fit through a door) any tips or do you think this will even work? i want a large tank of just water so i will not have to add water every day and where my pump is i will have a large mechanical filter like the ones for a hot tub. and input is welcome
THANKS, BRYAN

fill it with scrubbies and use a spray bar. never have water quality problems again.

It'll work, but it would be extreme and utter overkill. The bioload you could fit in a 640g tank would not even use 1/4th of the media you could fit in the top container.

well i found 40g bioballs for really cheap on ebay (like 100 bucks) with scrubbies and everything else, im thinking i need bio area roughly 100g. i want a very large resivoir so i will only need to add water once in a while. thanks guys.
