haha well as the title says, this is a massive two gallon tank that i just built, i wanted to know what you guys thought.

I have only one concern. There's a bit of a mirror effect, as you can see in the photos (there are only two gold fish), and I made this tank for my betta. Squishy is his name.
You think it's okay?

I like it sweet mirror affect as well

You'll get to see all sides of your betta. But it may drive him crazy trying to fight with himself. Painting one or two of the sides would probably be a good idea. But it depends on where you plan to keep the tank.

well, i haven't built a filter yet, only a heater. but the reason i posted this was because i have heard rumors of betta fish attacking themselves if placed infront of a mirror.

Correct. i put a mirror next to my betta for a little while every few days. He changes colors a little and flares up. Fun to watch and makes him feel like a tough guy when it goes away.

GAHHHH my second failed attempt at making a betta tank! :(

what if i put a lot of plants around the sides?

any suggestions?

Just paint two sides so it doesn't reflect. It will hide the heater cord and filter also. You could use it in a corner of your desk or something.

I dont know if from the inside there will be mirroring.
I was reading a thread on here the other day in the Arowana section and they were testing speculations on why they get drop eye.
The person took a photo from the out side of the tank looking at the bottom and you could see mirroring but when he took a photo under the water looking at the bottom (waterproof camera) there was no mirroring.

Just a thought.
