massivore making a mess.

I'm currently feeding my rays massivore pellets and it's making a mess of my tank. The water is always cloudy and the intake of my FX5 always get clogged up with crap. I have a FX5 and 405 on my 125 gallon and I still see stuff floating on the surface of my tank and have cloudy water issues.

Anybody else feeding massivore have similar problems? My rays eat the pellets as soon as they hit the bottom of the tank but they still disintegrate I guess clouding up my tank.


Not to mention - massivore smells like $hit!
 
Yeah I tried the hikari massivore with my fish and turtles and it always messed my tanks up. Even in small amounts. :(
 
I had the same problem. It stunk up my house so i stopped feeding it to the rays.
 
hulon cousin harry has a sturgeon food that he replaced massivore with because of that reason. he says it is harder and stays intact longer not screwing up you filter sockes, etc. maybe unkle harry will chime in.:popcorn:
 
anybody else notice the remnants sticking to the FX5 intake? or any intake for that matter?
what do you guys suggest is a good food for me to start with I wanna wean them off of massivore.
 
I'm going to try to make my own whole food fish diet and then continue to supplement with live foods to see how that goes.
 
I'm just gonna keep feeding em earthworms and eventually try market shrimp again. In the past they have just taken them and ripped em up into a million and one pieces making a nightmare cleanup.
