Does anyone have one of these? also commonly known as the black spotted spiny eel? Was at my local LFS and they had 2 of these guys. As much as I try and avoid "impulse buys" at $9.99 I had to get this guy! I'll be posting pics soon to confirm =) I've researched anything from 12" to over 20" fully grown. If anyone has any info or pics of theirs it would be great to see/know =)

lil' update.. My "guys" are ravenous, boisterous, and very naughty!.. went back to the lfs last night to do abit of rearrangeing of our stock. And ended up coming home with another one of these guys. Our current guy of 1 week has grown noticably. our new guy is approx 4" and our first one is about 4.5" I went threw my usual acclimation ritual, and introduced the new guy... world war 3 broke out soon afterwards... I seperated them after it was abundently clear the original guy was not going to tolerate the new ones presance one bit, and before seriouse damage was inflicted. Hubby was not happy.. the leopards are "his" fish.

After some discussion last night and today, we're going to try getting a 3rd and introducing all 3 together into a "new" tank at the same time. Similar to what I did with my fire eels.

which brings my spiney eel fish count up too..

3 fire eels
1 Tire track
2 black leopards( soon to be 3)

But I also let go of 2 "monster" species of fish to make room for my spiney's and to promote our Gar addiction as well.

I got one in my grow out 75g, his around 11" he was with 3peacock eels and 7" fire eel. Very territorial and would attack the other eels. Harassed the other eels to starvation. Oddly enough, my black spotted eel doesnt touch any of the kuhli loaches and he can easily devour them.
