Been battling diatoms and BBA off and on for a few months in my moderately planted 29g that’s been running for years. I have another 29g with 3 bristle nose plecos. Minimal algae. Go figure. I moved one of the plecos into the algae-riddled 29. Presto, in 2 days it’s been virtually wiped out, and he’s pooping like a champ. The bristle nose is way more effective than nerite snails and Fluorish Excel. Sorry, I’m a slow learner. Looks much better.

I had a pair in my 60 gallon community tank for 8 years or so and never had to clean algae!
