Large male matamata turtle, for sale. Carapace is over 12 inches. I had the turtle for over 5 years. He is housed in a 500 gal tank. Diet consist of: Shiner's, fat head minnows, trout, shrimp and tilapia. Eats out of my hand. Unique appearance, cool pet to have. Contact me at cesar23w@comcast.net $400

Is he fully aquatic in your tank?? No ledges to bask out of the water? What are the smallesy fish you can house with him?????

Fully aquatic. Even though these turtles do not bask, it is necessary to use UVB-emitting bulbs. Matamatas are carnivores and feed almost exclusively on any kind of fish. I keep mine with two 10inch pbass. Anithing smaller and it will disappear. Thanks for your interest.
