can any one solve these two problems? i absolutely HATE word problems :irked:

the denominator of a fraction is three more than twice the numerator. if both numerator and denominator are increased by nine, the simplified result is (13/23). What is the original fraction? (do not simplify)

AND

one number is (1/5) of another number. the sum of the two numbers is 18. find the two numbers

THANKS
