Mathem in the 75g

OK. Right side of tank is An adult male HRP Rio Danli. His mate is an adult female Con. They have fry that are about 1/2" now. They dont really defend them anymore.

Center roams a young female JD and the tank boss Thorichthys Mixteco Gold.

Left side in the hollow log live the offspring of the HRP and Con. The hybrids had babies and the fry are all gone.

Seems like the female hybrid is showing interest in her dad, the male HRP. The male hybrid does not seem to be liking this.

The JD doesnt seem to care much but the Mixreco boss wants none of this in his tank.

Thanks. The first fish is an adult male Thorichthys Mixteci Gold @about 6" (same genus as Firemouth). The next blue fish with orange fins is the adult male Honduran Red Point (HRP) @about 4".

Or do you mean the red dither fish which is a Black Ruby Barb?

Best part of keeping cichlids is seeing them interact with each other. Very nice video.

Yeah. Alot of flaring and short chases. No harm is done and they all have their caves to retreat to.


I like at 3:27 when the female Con chases away the "hussy" that is trying to steal her man LOL.

The Black Ruby Barb ... far out. I'm something of a Barb fan (just scored 3 Filament Barbs!) and I've never heard of them.
