Matrix vs Pumice

What is Matrix then? All the MSDS says is 100% Natural Made Stone. It has all the properties of Pumice, It's highly porous, very lightweight and some even floats like some pumice, and it is colored like common pumice.

The difference from buying pumice in a store versus Seachem is presumably that the store won't clean it and guarantee that it's free of heavy metals. (Since pumice comes from volcano's, it will have different properties (ingredients) depending on where it came from.)
