Mature male Ray at 10"??

Saw this guy at a LFS and his claspers are huge and looking uncurled..
Hes only got a 10" disk MAX! Is that the normal size for this maturity? I just have never seen a ray this small, looking sooo ready to breed.

Not uncommon for to see marbles mature at that size. I have seen imported fully mature males @ 8 inches.

I often bring in marbles mature at 7-8" size.

I've had 2 male motoros (one regular, one marble) in the past that were mature at 8" or so. What store is this one at?

I believe in 2 things affect the size of maturity. Insufficient food in the wild and the rays end up stunted and genes.

I think so too. Not everyone can have a huge tank in their house. The size does not affect their health.
