So I have a 10 year old planted 55 G with a very mature lily plant. My question is the roots of this lily have spread across the whole tank and I believe it's causing my other plants to wilt and starve. I've had a few plants die off completely. Would I be safe just chopping up the roots of the lily or should I remove as much of the root as I can and maybe add some fresh flourite?

What's my best plan of action here fellas?

The lilly is going to draw most of your root nutrients. Either stick to water column feeders, or remove the lilly. Cutting the roots back too much can kill the plant.
