What's the basis for Motoros (M/F) to be called mature?

I read the for males its the claspers, but what about for the females? As well as what's the optimal size for breeding?

Thanks in advance for the replies

Females don't show outward signs of maturity. Normally around 1.5 yrs give or take a few months and they are mature as long as theyve had good care. At this age they are 12" or so.

Size means nothing. All about age. Obviously a 8-10 " ray can be hit or miss but it happens. All depends on age. Most rays wild at small sizes are a year they jus don't have as much food avail as most ppl feed. A lot of ppl overfeed.
