max size of a dempsey???

i was just curious i got mine at 6" and its grown an inch in 6 months (now 7")

normal jd's can reach 12", i have heard tales of up to 14" but no pics to back it up.

jds do grow pretty slowly.

My friend's JD is over 12 inches. It took like three years or four to grow out.

males usually grow up to 10-12 inches while females grow up to 8-10 inches

Once they hit 7" it takes awhile for them to grow to their full potential.

My 10-11 inch male is the biggest one I have seen up close and personal. Took him about 2-3 years to get that big.

oooh like the JD!!! mine lost his tail in a fight with a gold spot pleco, but he is recovering. at least you JD can have companions.... mine hates everything, but he does like his sides scratched by me. my boy is around 8 1/2 inches before he lost his tail, and about 3 years old.
