Max Size of a JD?

Was wondering what the max size of a jack dempsey is? and if any of you have pics of any of urs..mines currently like 4 inches..how much more is he gonna grow and wat kind of growth rate do they have

I got a female that is slightly over the 10 inch mark....

JD is supposed to be around 10" for average.

You can usually tell the sex by looking at the spangles on the gill plate. A female will have spangles that go all the way to the bottom. Males stop at about 2/3.

That is what I heard a long time ago, and it holds true for the six that I went through to get a breeding pair.

any ideas on what either 1 of these could be ...im leaning towards both females...the darker 1 continuously chases the other 1 around
