Maxi-Jet 1200's Seem Rather Loud

I purchased a pair of these to run as mechanical filtration and for water movement on my 125. I fired them up last night and man are they loud. I can hear them vibrating from quite a distance away.

Do these things have a break in period? Will they ever quiet down?

Mine are silent..... I do not recall them ever making any humming. Maybe I could not hear it over my 2 air pumps and 2 hob's plus two canisters (Which are inherently silent)

Yea, I guess after having an Eheim canister, anything sounds loud.

Really though, these things vibrate like crazy. I don't think I can keep them on.

And these don't have the algae free 1600 mod, either. Just straight out of the box.

Weird are you sure they are working properly ? What is the algae free 1600 mod? Sounds cool.

I've had them running for 5 days now and they are a little bit quieter. I guess I'll wait and see if they get any better. They do move a lot of water for the price.

mine were loud for about a week and then quited down after a while
