Maxi-Jet with sure flow 1600?

I have a 55 gallon African cichlid tank. Recently ran into some trouble. Not enough oxygen in the tank. I was interested into buying a maxi-jet and using it for aerating the tank with the Airline thingy, then i came across this sure flow mod kit, and saw it makes the normal 300 gph put out about 2000gph, so.. My questions. Too much flow for a 55 gal tank? Will it Oxygenate the water? (enough) And for anybody that has used it before, can you still use the airline thingy, with the sure flow mod.

That seems like a ton of flow in that sized tank for lake fish. What kind of turn over do you have from your filter already?

A simple airstone can add a lot of oxygen to the tank.

I have 2 HOBS rated for 60 gallons each, put out about 600 gph total, and a eheim ecco 2336, which is rated for a 80 gallon tank, which has 250gph i believe. Not much water flow in the tank for a fairly overly stocked tank.
