i have 2 1" drains drilled in the back of my tank. water flows through a bulkhead and down to my sump.
i'm using a tee fitting between my bulkhead fitting and the down pipe with an end cap drilled with holes on the upward side of the tee allowing air to escape. this is the only way i could think of to maybe increase the volume of water my 1" pvc could handle.
i would like to increase it further as my pump has to much flow for the current drain setup to keep up with. i have added a tee piece in my return line with a gate valve that controls water back to my sump to dial back my pump.
so can i do anything else to maximize my drain flow?

what is the flowrate of your pump?

What size are the holes that are drilled and what size pipe are you restricted to from the bulkhead fitting?

i think the shop i bought the tank from said the holes were drilled at...43mm?
I'm limited to 1" threaded fitting attachments to the bulkhead.

i've put an elbow on 1 bulkhead and pointed it downward and put a new endcap on top of the tee so the standpipe can't breathe to make it full siphon. and left the other as is so it skims the surface a bit. managed to get the pipe size from the bulkhead to 1.5 inch now it hammers!!!. the full siphon alone is to quick for my pump, i had to by a gate valve for the standpipe to limit the flow back to my sump.
so now, my question is do i need an overflow or will it be fine as is?

this pic is before i increased the pipe size and added the elbow to the inside of the tank.
