So I was not home the other night and in a matter of 24 hours most of my tank had died. They had some type of white fluffy thing on my fish, kind of looked like a fungus...I think. It is a planted tank and the plants are fine. I had about 10 tetras die as well as a german ram. I saw the my EJBD were breathing towards the top of the tank so i decided to throw them into a quarantine because I had nothing to lose at that point. They seem to have completely lost all the affects of being in the other and are behaving normally. What should I do with the tank that was/ still is infected? I have Melafix, Pimafix on had right now. Please help me out.

Probably ammonia spike to cause such chaos in such a short time period.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note II

the parameters are out of wack. ph 6 ammonia 1-2 nitrite .5-1 nitrates 10-20 ppm

no changes in tank or filter. It is still a newly established tank. But what i dont understand is how my fish can die in the new tank and once i put them into a quarantine all the ailments disappear.

ok. But my only concern is that its not established, What should i do with the tank with the wacky water parameters

and im still looking for insight on the fuzzy **** that was on my fish if anyone can help

The only thing you can do at this point is a 50% water change and then daly 25% water change untill your numbers come back to normal. Also add salt to the water 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons to help negate the effects of the ammonia/nitrite. Add the fish back one at a time over the course of a week or so while watching the numbers it will help the BB to establish without being overwhelmed by to big a bio load at one time. Were the fish that had the fungus on them dead or alive?
