My husband whos on here a lot, said if I had any trouble to get on here. He's out in the field. Anyways I was doing some work around the house and had to shut off power to tank, well one of my pumps wasn't working so I pulled it off fixed the motor and back to normal. However I keep looking at my tank two of my eels are acting like there gasping for air and I noticed the shark breathing hard as well. The only other thing I noticed is the star fish we have looks like its been bitten. Now the tank is 200 gal. Should I be worried or any ideas what could be going on in the tank. Yesterday I did a 20% water change with purified water and sea salt mix. Please help or give Ideas I dont want to be a dead wife for killing his babies.

Either in the process of fixing the pump, chemicals were introduced or there is a lack of oxygen...both related to the pump...

Another wild guess would be that the waterchange wasn't done properly and the water parameters are now way off (salinity, ph etc)

Or a ammonia spike.

Ok just walked out to the tank the chocolate chip starfish looks like he's loosing his leg, and he looks like he trying to turn him self inside out. I more worried about his nurse shark then anything. Is there anything I can do? And whats going on with the starfish?

is it just me or can starfish lose and regrow legs? I heard that they can... usually when my fish breathe hard its an ick infection (dont know why but it makes them breathe hard) or one of the things said above

Starfish can regenerate however the starfish had a infection which made it loose limbs and start to deterae at a rapid rate. However update on tank a friend of the family came and fixed the tank. it seemed that the salt level was off.
