It's a chimaera, and as Ming said, possibly a Hydrolagus colliei. Saltwater and a relative of sharks, BTW.Both great pics, can't wait to see who wins... can someone tell me what kind of fish pic two is of?

Best regards.
Daniel.

both pics are great. the glare/reflection in pic2 made me go with the SH but still they're both hella sick.
i think its the case with a lot of people. i duno, the glare and that you can see on pic one is a downer, but i think the clarity of the subject matter is a lot clearer. i also prefer whats happening in the pic. just my op.voted.............had to go with number one.........just cuz it is a SH.............
The fish is a spotted ratfish and it is a marine fish. I took the pic at an aquarium in a very dark room with no lights on the tank. I had to use a flash and that accounts for the glare. The fish is a bottom dweller and does not like alot of light.
