So I have a 300 with a few big fish and quite a few more growing but have been becoming very intrigued by peoples cichla lately. I know better that to commit to adding that to the growout list for the 300 but today may have opened a door....There's a very very good chance I'll be picking up a 210 this weekend from a buddy so i have questions for all you experts:

1. Is this tank bid enough to embark on this cichla journey?
2. Tankmates? Any? Suggestions? Big cat maybe?
3. Species? Sources?
3. How much do the azul's run? (I am constantly in aw of R1's)

Any help or ideas would be great, I've got so many thoughts abut this now!!
:nilly::D

a 210gal is fine for a few cichla to grow out of for a while.. do it..
tankmates i would say would be a trial and error thing, if you like a combo try it.. ofcourse youve got the standard rule of anything smaller than your cichla will try to be eaten.
Azuls are expensive and rare, im not sure the exact $$ value in the states though..
I hope you take the plunge bro, and good luck :D

so how long is "a while" ?

what are the dimensions of the 210?

wether it's 7x2x2 or 6x2x2.5, it'll work for a quite a while unless you get tems.

try whatever tankmates you want as long as they're not killers and will be large enough. At least that's my moto w/ everything.

it's a 6 footer. would kinda like a big cat of some sort to do some cleanup and i don't really have any other than my lima. suggestions?

Expect cichla to grow approx. 1 inch per month for the first year then slowing in growth a little after that. 210 gallon tank would be about 70 total inches of fish MAX. If the tank is only 24 inches wide, youre probably good for 1.5 to 2 years depending on species.

i thought you were getting married =( dumb me
