Mayan and red Texas mix

So in my community tank I have a female Mayan and male red Texas, they are now a couple and I kind of want the fry and I kind of don't want the aggression so I'm planning on seperating the female. She will be in another community tank. Or should I put them in a 40 breeder whenever I can get a hold of one.

I would try breeding them. Never saw a mayan cross, i think....
