unless the tank is huge, the mayan will dominate and probably kill some others off

yea that would be better they can hold there own for sure with lots of territorys you should be good

ive never really had any problems with cichlids showing aggression toward different looking fish. i had some mixed with clown knive and arrow with now problems. i think you will get more aggression adding dempseys and stuff. go with the ck and cp.

May be ok with only one, but if you get a pair they will need their own tank. They'll kill everything else in it.

i saw a mayan yesterday at a LFS was only about 5inches, and that thing was a real glass banger!, but then again it was only in a 10 gallon tank =/
