I hve recently heard about mayan cichlids or "false red terrors". So i wanted to find out a little bit more about them(they seem like awesome fish), so if anyone has pics of them or some useful info i would appreciate it. I really want see some monster size mayan cichlids. I heard some moderator on here has some monsters. Thank you all.

i know they get big, like a male red terror, but there color is not as strong.

they are great fish. my first one reached about 9-10". currently have a 7" with my breeding jags and beleive me the mayans can hold their own against most other cichlids. one of my favorites. very underrated imo

Mayan cichlid or Uropthalmus can and usually are aggresive cichlids. they get over i foot i would have thought prob going on to 18 inches. very similar to Red terror's/Festae's. i personally love the Festae, but the Uro's are very hansome too.

this is my mayan, 6"+
