I know this question gets asked a lot but I need to be sure if this is a true red terror I got from my lfs. It's still small but I have a chance to pickup a platinum Jack Dempsey and grow him out. I know lfs label Mayan as red terror. I've had one before that was 6" but I can tell at that big it was a mayan. I would prefer to keep it in my 10 gallon if it's a true red terror but if it's not I'm trading it back in for a platinum Jack Dempsey. Please any help is appreciated. Thanks. Here's some pics.

The only pic that i can really see anything is the 1st one so judging by the spot by its tail I'd definitely say Mayan.

Was thinking that to. Damn I wish lfs would just label them as Mayan instead of red terror. Thanks for the input.

Just remember. Neither a mayan, red terror, or platinum jack dempsey can live in a 10 gal for life, actually for not that long at all.

The fish is barely an 1". Usually when I get fish that are 1"-2" I grow them out in my 10 until they put on another 1" and a little size. This method has worked for me instead of throwing them in my 55 or 30 where they can either get killed and stress out or kill other fish in my 30 community. I do not plan on keeping him in there that long.
