So I traded in my Red Devil for these two fish. My LFS owner couldn't remember what they were but told me they wouldn't get big. -__- I posted pics to get an ID in the CA/SA forum and found out I have a male and female Mayan.Texas hybrid. Does anyone have info on these or pics of how they look when mature?

I don't think many of us have seen this cross before.

Pls grow them out and see what they turn into, Im curious to see what they look like mature.
If they end up looking totally awesome then breed the pair.

Here's short video of them.

OMG I have the same EXACT fish!! I've been looking everywhere to find out what it was. But anyways mine is about 7 inches right now and has quite a likeable attitude. He is "in charge" but never bothers any fish unless they bother him or if they are newcomers. I don't know how big he'll get but he grew really fast within the first few months but had an "injury" which slowed him down. I've probably had him for 7 months now, and he was about 1" when I first got him. But he still seems to be growing. Oh and by the way, I don't know its sex but call it a he anyway

My hybrid right here. You can't see it too well but it does have the pearling all around its face. I don't have my lighting installed yet, so that's probably why.

cool i have some mayan x flowerhorn fry im growing out , just free swimming as of yesterday so i realize these are different but it does show what traits shine through ... cool fish regardless
