Is this even possible? My female Salvini just laid some eggs on some drift wood and the Mayan is helping to guard it. Guess I will know for sure in a couple of days....

yea, if they are even able to produce, i will let them get a little bigger before i use them as feeders. i will provide pics.
I dont see why it wouldnt work, both are centrals I think.. Im not too educated on Mayans though... But givent the name I would guess they originated somewhere in cental America... Like Mexico... Just a thought haha. Good on you for using as feeders too!!!
I'd like to see the outcome of this, you could always seperate the fry untill there of a reasonable size, pick the strongest 1 or 2 and grow them out just to see the outcome. Obviously use the others as feeders. I guess as long as you don't let the hybrids breed then thats cool. Its when people sell hybrids into the open market thats a big no-no. Each to there own i guess
