I picked up a juvenile water monitor at a reptile expo, appeared to be very healthy, alert, etc.

Upon getting home and getting the monitor settled in, it sneezed and a whole bunch of mucus came out of it's nose. Wiped it away, inspected the monitor, seemed to still be alert/active/etc and left it alone.

Over the next couple of days, it's been very active, eating like a fiend, swimming, doesn't have any signs of illness, injury or stress but it occasionally sounds like it's coughing/wheezing and sneezes. Haven't seen anymore mucus, though.

I'm not sure if it's getting/has a respiratory infection, maybe there's something in the set-up making it sneeze (maybe the bedding?), or if it's just the occasional sneeze.

Just looking for some idle thoughts, 'cuz right now I feel like making an appointment with my vet to have it looked over. And I don't know if I'm overreacting or not.

Got one scheduled for tomorrow after work. Hopefully it's nothing too bad or serious. The monitor is still very active and eating a lot, so it doesn't appear to be affecting it too horribly yet.
On the bright side, it's appropriate timing and it'll be a group visit, since a few of my other reptiles need their wellness visits soon. So we're all going in as a big, scaley family lol
