I purchased a 800 watt Finnex Titanium heater and controller for my 240 g approximately 13 months ago.
If memory serves, I believe I paid $90 to $100, a lot for a heater right, but if it lasts 10 years...
Last month the controller stopped working (there had been signs that it was failing, I just didn't recognize them at the time)
Fortunately I had just finished adding a warm water input to my constant drip that I was able to adjust to keep the tank warm while waiting for my "new" heater (JBJ True Temp.) to arrive.
I ordered JBJ heating systemfrom Aquacave. I was very disappointed as they substituted a Finnex titanium heating element. I am very happy with the controller so far. When I contacted Aquacave they told me that was what I ordered. That is not what I ordered and I see now that they have changed their website. I WILL NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN!!!
Well anyway I continued to use the 12 month old Finnex heating element, seeing as it seemed to work fine once plugged into the "JBJ" controller. Yesterday it stopped working. I've put in the "new" Finnex heating element and everything is fine for the moment.
I'm looking for a different titanium heating element as I just don't trust the Finnex brand.
Any recommendations?

Thanks

Pat

Did you contact Finnex about a replacement for the broken controller? Most of these companies are pretty good about replacing defective merchandise.
