mbu bang on crawfish...

this guy is eating more and more...
i dont do crawfish a lot, just maybe like twice a month...just to trim the teeth a little...a few crawfish is like nothing now...
finishing one in a few seconds..
he is learn to be smarter too...
used to going from the front against the claws...which he will get snaps on his skin each time by the crawfish claws...
now he always going from the tail first, or from the back of the head, or one bite in the middle of it...break the head off..and eat the body first, then the head...
i will try to take a video next time when i feed crawfish again...
this is the first one...see his stomach was a little flat...haven't feed in a day or so only...

then the stomach was a little full after the 3rd one...

and then he was taking a break...
after awhile he noticed there was another left over head...and he went for it again..lol

and when he was finally done...just resting on the sand bed a little..lol...and he was swimming around again...

and in conclusion...i got him a little over a year...over the year he double his size i think...but he is suppose to be bigger then what he is now...but little things happens....3 times of ich..once of them took over a month to completely got off...and i was at china during last summer for 2 month...and he only got feed once every two weeks because my mom was too busy to come to my house to feed him...and during last year i was only feeding him like twice a week...started from this year...like once everyday or two days...that's when he started to growing a lot...
now i am all buying jumbo shrimps...these are like more then 4" long...the biggest one i could find on the market, which is like equal 3 of the small ones i use to feed...now he could eat one jumbo shrimp each day...and the next morning like nothing happened...swimming all around again...
one thing is i notice the 150 is getting a little small for him already...need to look for a bigger tank soon....

That's amazing. Great shots. Puffers always amaze me with their intelligence... actually the more I research fish, the more I realize how smart they actually are (can be). The beauty of life.

hey i am from hong kong now...lol..
just living in us now...
he is around 10" now....when i got him is was around 4-5"....
i know 150 is small for him...
actually search for a bigger tank now..no luck yet...
the 150 is 24" wide...so i would want some tank which is long and also wider too...

^ Yeah, not to be rude, but considering the amount of time you've had him, he should be a lot bigger than 10" just in the first year of his life, he should be at no less than around 12"+ so i'm afraid your puffer maybe stunted / malnourished...

As for your upgraded tank, you should really be looking at something with at least 36 inches / 3 feet front to back, and i would guess no less than about 10Feet long... since this gorgeous puffer you have will eventually top out at around 36"+

Any how, good to meet another member from Hong Kong, especially one thats into puffers... so best of luck with your pet, and hopefully you can get him into an upgraded tank soon...

a lot things happened to him over the year...
i agree he should be bigger then he is at now...
maybe i was not taking care of him good enough...
when i first got him, he would not eat at all...
just laying on the bottom all way...i was so scared each day that he would just die one day...
really week...took me almost a month to get him to eat a little...
and took me another month or so to put some weight on him to make sure that he was a little stronger to do a ip for him with metros...
and things turned better after the treatment...
but after that..ich happened to him 3 time...
once of them took over a month to completely got off...and i was at china during last summer for 2 month...and he only got feed once every two weeks because my mom was too busy to come to my house to feed him...and during last year i was only feeding him like twice a week...started from this year...like once everyday or two days...that's when he started to growing a lot...
