Mbu puffer help got a problem

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
His tail looks like it is rotting. I would add 1 tsp of salt per 5 gallons and bump the temp to 88-90 F. Make sure to add an airstone also with the addition of the high temps.

I will add some salt but what would raising the temp that high do? His tail has been crinkled since I got him. as far salt the salt will that clear it if it is a fungus.

Either way that fungus is a secondary infection and should not occur in good water quality. Make sure they aren't fighting between each other either :)

Sure about the higher temps, Kev? I always feel it speeds the development of the disease, bar some exceptions, such as hexa..

On another note, what is the PH you are keeping them in?

I have had success in treating multiple issues at once with my Mbu's. It should only take about a week to see results and then start dropping the temp.
