hey my wife puffers and i've tried to raise them w/ no luck. they get to about 2 inches and just die. what gives ? the water was good to go and they were eatting well.

you know I cann't say. I got them from pet smart . the tag just said puffer $.... : my father-in-law thinks it was because the water wasn't brackish enough. he could be right i've always be in to cichlids. puffers are a new thing for me so

yes, you prolly got green spotted puffers, and you kept them in freshwater instead of brackish. They are brackish as juveniles, and FULL MARINE as adults.

I can't help you, I've only kept those little unknowns myself and got rid of them because they started killing other fish, a 3" one killed 1/2 severums overnight, most of them had holes right through thier gut walls. Cute though.

i should have studied up 1st. the water was by no means good to go than.

well, the lfs should have labeled them as brackish/salt, but too many don't seem to
