Those snails are too tough for the puffer, that’s why he is spitting them out.. they can also crack/break his teeth.

Are you sure, I have heard that the SA puffer break their teeth on MTS. But would mbu too damage their teeth
 
Yep MTS are a pest snail and only loaches eat them (but sucking them out of the shell). My fahaka does touch them anymore and I was told never to feed them when he was young, I figure Mbu are similar based on the video.. if they chew then and spit it out undamaged times its find another good source.

MTS have notoridously hard shells as mentioned already and i’ve heard stories of them cracking all manners of puffers teeth... so even though an MBU is larger, i’d still avoid them as a precaution more than anything else...

Agreed about mts And puffers

For mbu you should try to get a group of Marisa cornuarietis/giant ramhorn related to Apple snails
Easier to breed, produce in huge numbers
Eggs are laid underwater so no incubation period like with Apple/mystery snail/Pomacea diffusa
