mbu??

i just went to the lfs to by some new year fish.
well....
pre-new year fish.
i saw one puffer that stood out of some red eye puffers.
got him for 50 US cents.
he looks much like a mbu.
hes less than an inch long,
has a yellow belly and yellow tail,
but the markings on his body are quite dull now.
hes mostly grayish with some mbu like lines.
pics will come in a few hours.

guna need pics theres alot of puffers that look alike was it in fresh or saltwater that would narrow it down if it is a mbu you know they get 30'' and need a large tank atleast as wide as the puffer and around 6 feet long

We definately need a pic for ID but whether it is a mbu of fahaka, you're gonna need a large tank. It has been said 1,000g for a mbu, with extensive fuiltration, sump, etc.

if it is mbu,
it will be sold when its bigger,
its in freshwater...
def. not a fahaka cause ive seen fahakas at this size and its not.

It will be much harder to sell it when it's bigger. What size tank is it in now? They grow very quickly & produce a huge bioload.

I wouldn't get it it will be very hard to raise at that size.

If it an mbu, good for you! Thats a sweet score. At that size make sure to feed it lots of ghost shrimp and baby snails.

i just found out that one lfs has a bnch of them for 8 dollars.
i found him dead when i came home from work...
got pics of when he was still alive though.
if he is what i think he is,i will buy one.

well...i can confirm with you it is not a mbu...should be this... or others

I also got 1.... congo puffer already sold for SGD50 for 1"

I dun think so that the LFS is a fool to sell for $8.. maybe someone else is the fool

If it Mbu I will buy all to invest heard small ones cost atleast SGD120 +/-

That's a South American puffer (Colomesus asellus).
