I have a OB fuelleborni cichlid, if I get her tank mates the look like her will they get along? I feel like I've seen somewhere that cichlids that look alike won't get along

It can be difficult adding single fish in a Malawi tank as that new fish often becomes a target for harassment.

I have found with Africans it can be difficult if just adding one or two other fish. However if the tank is large enough you can stock heavier and sometimes this spreads aggression out. My biggest advice though is be prepared to move fish if the mixture is not working.
alsonif you go the route of stocking heavily be prepared for the extra work that comes with it. I have a 150 and am changing water every 3-5 days.

It's only a 29g. Just thought maybe she would want a friend. Maybe not a good idea I guess
No I don't recommend a tank mate for that size tank with Mbuna. Any chance you can bump up to a 55G or ideally a 75G tank?
