I'm clearing out my 29g to use a grow out for my baby Flowerhorn, and I'm left with two little Julli Cories. Will they mix well with the fish listed in my sig in my 55? I don't see why they wouldn't but you never know. Figured I'd ask the pros first.

Some of those fish can but a beating on smaller cats, and I don't see cories being able to defend themselves. Besides that water requirements are different for both species.

I have a tank set up at a doctors office with mbunas and corys and all is well.....has been for a few months now.

I don't know...Psuedotrophus can be quite agressive along with the zebras. BUt Rallysman did say his got along, so I say try it, but keep an eye on it. Good Luck!

I would keep a really close eye on it, the thing is it depends on the fish and if they feel in or out of balance if they feel out of balance they will prob. attack the newly introudced fish. I found that my eel gets along great with mine, but he also attacks back and can be agressive. I put a JD and tried mixing it up but they beat him up so I took him out and moved him (yay he is perfect again now) but that didnt work out so well. I have quite a few of the same fish as you do but mine tend to be extremely agressive. Others say they dont know why mine are so mean and that there fish get along nice... so I guess you could try it but I really think it depends on the fish and if they feel in or out of balance by the number of fish and if they feel threatned (not that coris are all that threatning...) =) I always find you just have to experiment with them....

It seems to me as though they would quite easily adapt to the slightly higher PH required for the Malawi's. If they have enough cover to hide in I don't foresee you having a problem at all. The fish you have listed tend to be the more peaceful of the mbuna's. Caeruleas and crabo are rather peaceful. Watch them for a week or so and if no problems then they should be ok. I have a golden algae eater in with my fish and he gives back as much as they try to dish out. Not afraid to chase an mbuna 3x his size. :naughty: :woot: :clap :headbang2

yeah, i wouldn't chance it... they would become fish food... which wouldn't be goo either... don't cories have some spiny bones that could harm your fish if they tried to swallow them?

I had a few cories in my malawi tank. It was fine for the first couple months. Then overnight it seems they all disppaeared. Cleaned out my tank and found skeletal remains of the poor cories.

Well, it worked for like 2 months, then I cleared out my 29 and put them back in there and gave them a ton of new friends to hang out with. Happy ending to the story.
