I just need a generalized list of the things that mbuna's eat. I tried feeding mine lettuce and zucchini, which they didnt touch. They kinda like peas (frozen/thawed) but didnt care for it too much. Also FD krill, didnt really care for it, and of coarse pellets, which again didnt really care for. should i try veggie flake/pellet? any other ideas would be appreciated... and most likely tried...

i feed NLS pellets, krill pellets and spirulina pellets (there is a seller on ebay that sells great soft pellets), and mine do eat zucchini, yellow squash and cucumber -they fight the pleco over it. i also feed as a treat some frozen brine shrimp or a veggie mix once a week.

as far as veggies, i have found that if i slice and put raw veggies in the tank they wont eat it at all. i have to slice them up, freeze them and then i rubber band a few pieces to a rock and sink it. they go crazy over it. freezing the veggies damages the cell walls of the plant, and makes it softer for them to eat.

I cush a clove of raw garlic toss it in a pot of boiling water. Then blanch any fresh veggies briefly, like a min or two.The fish always go nuts for it.
