I purchased this at my LFS and it was labled Mel. Auratus-Albino. I know it'a not an albino auratus because albinos have the yellow/white. Does anyone know what kind of auratus this is?

Thanks for the help.

looks like a regular auratus.

albinos are yellow with white like you said... and also with red eyes. They are recently popping up all over the place.

I thought it was a little strange because i would think it would be either yellow or blue, if it was a "regular" auratus, unless he was stressing in the tank at LFS and lost his/her color...

auratus are yellow with black horizontal bars.

That's what i was saying. It would be either yellow (with black bars, female) or blue (with black bars, male). The one i purchased is white, so i was wondering if anyone knows if this is caused by stress, or if it's a different type of Auratus (i.e. Albino).

Melanochromis parallelus will turn blue if male and older.

PS. auratas never turn blue. The males are black. If it has blue it is another melanochromis instead sorry.
