is it okay that i mix these guys in a tank? the mbuna and peacocks live together already but i want to add front's to the mix and is it normal for peacocks and mbuna's to mix?

The peacocks will not be as nice looking with mbuna, can even slow their growth... colors will be less observable since they will be far from the dominate fish. I know peacocks and fronts can work for a while, but even those I am separating. The bigger peacock messes with them, but now that they are close to his size they are getting pretty rough with him...

My peacocks are do so much better now that they are not with the mbuna...

ps long time no see... where you been?

i've been out of the fish game for a while now getting all excited again with a 240 gallon tank!! i have like 70 mbuna(they breed and eat their young like mad) 7 peacocks in a 75 gallon tank... i know its over crowded... so i'm going to transfer the peacocks and some mbuna to the 240 with a silver arowana, 2 bala sharks, 1 indo dat, 2 thin bar dats, 7 frontosa's, and a calvus/comp... and i'm going to get rid of some of the OB mbuna.... i also am going to get rid of a bunch of the orange ones too... i'm surprised you still remember me... i remember you from all your advice and such....

the fronts and the advice way back when the front's were 1-2 inchers now 7 inchers!

i got rid of the dubois tropheus and all the calvus died but one :(

i think that the arow will really appreciate some live food .. ;) don't take me the bad way but i think that you will lose all your mbunas

peakcock will nip on front fin..

good luck on your decisions..;)

haha the mbuna's are about 6-7 inches and the peacock as well... the arow is about 2-3 inches i dont think i will loose any mbuna's the fronts are fine with the dats and arow so far... i'm just hoping its going to be good with the new additions if i decided to because its gonna be hard to catch if its not a good tank mate

Hows the baby aro. w/ the big Mbuna?

i decided not to stick them in cuase the tank looks crowded already... 1 arowana, 4 dats, 3 bala sharks, 7 fronts, and a calvus

dats are 3-5 inches, arow is like 2-4 inches, fronts range from 4-7 inches, bala sharks are 4-6 inches and calvus is 2.5-3.5 inches.... i kinda want to stick more in there but i know when they grow up they will hate me...

ohh well didn't knew the arow's size.. eventhoug eventually you'll have to separate them.

front and arow can be tankmate.. i have seen pics of it and looks really great.
i'm more of the traditional guy who don't like mixing lakes and that kind of stuff but i have to admit fronts and arows look great
