So I've been wanting to add clown loaches to my 55 gallon with mbuna and recently got a deal on five 3" clowns. My current stocking consists of 20 Demasoni (10 adults and 10 juveniles), 6 Yellow Labs, 3 Synodontis Petricola, and 1 Bristlenose Pleco. In order to add the CL's, I was thinking moving the 3 Syno Cats to a different tank for 2 reasons. 1st to remove some bioload even though they don't make much. 2nd and more importantly, to reduce some competition for food at the bottom of the tank. Would you guys agree? Also, wouldn't the Petricola maybe stress the CLs by darting into their hiding holes? Thoughts are appreciated.

BTW . . . I'm looking to reduce my demasoni to 16 in the near future. I also know that clown loaches can get big, but I got time until that happens.

I have some cls right now with my african tank and they are doing fine. the cichlids don't really push them around they basically ignore them probably because i raised them up together. I believe you would be fine since the cls are already 3in they wont get pushed around a lot but gl
