I currently have a 55 gallon tank stocked with mbuna, none are close to full size yet, and tank is overfiltrated and been up and running 6-8 months without any issues... I fell in love at my lfs with this ob peacock, and picked it up. so far, it has fit in well, but in the long run, will it be fine with my mbuna's?

He's a good one!! He will do fien with mbuans most likely!! OB peacocks are apparently part mbuna so seem to usually do fine but keep a close eye out to make sure and if you see any aggression issues might mean time to get another tank :) probably wont see anything till they reach sexual maturity but since he's already showing some good color the mbunas will probably be intimidated, thats what
happened in my tank but I have a 125 gal and lots of territories!! but when spawing is happening my Ahli/ Ice Blue Hap likes to use his territory but the OB doesnt like that ;)
How many fish are in there? it looks just a tad unterstocked...

Thanks for the info. I had looked it up on ob peacocks and saw that they tend to be part mbuna, which eased my mind a little. Ill keep a close eye on any aggression, but so far they get along well. his colors are amazing. brings a whole different element to my tank. I dont think Im understocked, I actually think im overstocked a little. I have 18 fish in there, although none is bigger than 3 inches. most are dwarf or smaller species.

nice setup i had a peacock and mbuna tank similar to yours but already full size and everything did wonderful

thank u guys, i like the setup, tho i was thinking about getting "cichlid stones" cause ill get more volume in my tank, and all the fish will have their own caves to be able to hide in. on my list of things i want, lol...anyway, i will still keep an eye on him for a while, but im glad its been done with success...

cool beans. i def will update as he gets older. what would u say a good number for overstocking in a mbuna tank is? I have a sump that runs at about 840 gph, lol, so i have decent filtration... I am gonna redo my stock some, as i have learned a lot in a short span. just gonna start a new thread, lol....

Mann, That's a hella nice ob you got there.

Mind me asking how much you got it for? I wanna see the difference in prices between there and Hawaii.
