Do you offer your juveniles as many as they can eat, or only a certain number?

Last night after feeding my two females crickets, I offered them small mealworms for the first time.

The smaller one ate 4 of them which seemed like a lot to me, considering she already ate crickets.

Thanks in advance for any advice I can get. :)

mealworms are definately ok, but the only problem is that they can fatten up youre gecko. Think of em as twinkies, like you would eat them once in a while but not as a staple (well for most pple)

I wouldn't worry too much about offering too many mealworms. Waxworms can be fattening in excess though.

agreed, waxworms to geckos are like crack! and they can get addicted to them quickly so please only feed mealworms, cricks, roaches etc...

Are phoenix worms good for the little boogers too?

Ya from what I ve read they dont carry high fat contents like waxworms do

Thanks for the advice! I'm not going to use wasworms since I heard they are like crack for them.

The mealworms will be used maybe twice a week for now on the smaller female, and once a week on the larger one if I can get her to take them.

The only thing with mealworms though is don't let them have as many as they will take. Mealworms are much easier for the gecko to catch than crickets or roaches so they can overeat and will throw up if they take too many. They are fine to feed, just only gie them as many as they need, not as many as they'll take

Honestly, I would always have mealworms in there, and give it crickets several times a week

Really? I hadn't heard that.

If this is true, ignore my previous post
