I have a silver arowana and he or she used to be so shy and scared. I tried to feed him and he wouldn't eat in front of me and I wasn't even sure if he was eating at all. He loved crickets though so I fed him those to make sure he was actually eating something. This went on for about 10 months and I thought I just had a sissy for arow..then BOOM! Something changed. He know devours everything and when I come up to the tank I struggle to get the lid open because he is jumping at the lid and obviously I don't want him to flop out. He has grown fatter maybe not much on length but literaly in 3 weeks almost doubled in girth. He eats at such a rigors rage that I am wondering if I feed him enough. I feed him and the rays the same thing. Its salmon tilapia and shrimp chopped up twice a day. He probably eat 8 to 9 pieces that are about the size of a nickle to quarter. He is very aggressive now. I guess my questions are as follows
Is this aggression normal?
Do I need to feed more to clam him down? (he doesn't mess with any of the tank mates.)
Info:
240 gallon aquarium 8 x 2 x 2 (Plywood build next winter) I know this cannot house a full size Silver. He is about 14 inches right now. Drip system, sump,
Tankmates: 2 Motoro rays, 9 nicaragua cichlids.
sand substrate
led lighting
medium current
