Meanest Cichlid

I would like to know what others think are the most aggressive/meanest Cichlids? I have 3 Red Devils and a Jaguar. They have all had to be separated. I have heard that The Black Nasty is worse.. Does anyone agree??

depends on what size, I've seen 3" convicts stand up to and challenge 8" jaguars. The jaguar backed off. I think as far as the meanest goes you'd have to consider size, like as far as an 8"+ is conscerned jags, dovii, devils, n a few others fit the bill, but cons at 5" and under are brutal especially during breeding. The african kenyi is also pretty mean, a friend of mine has a 4" kenyi completely dominating his 55 g. african tank of at least 10 various african cichlids.

I know what you mean...I used to have a Kenyi and he bullied my JD and GT and took over the tank. I ended up selling him to a friend of mine...He is currently living with a Jag and a couple cons. And he STILL owns the tank hahaha

yeah, it depends on the personality of the particular fish. but if i must choose....... umbee, dovii, hatienies(however you spell it) jag, red devil

i heard in a magazine that the top five not in order are red devil ,red hump ,green terror, red terror and i dont remember the other

i had this one red zebra that dominated my tank. iit was with 2 wolffish 1 aro 1 JD 2 convicts and a texas cichlid and a few other predatory fish
