Canada... i wish.
is that true? i thanks thats why my tank is clowdy cause my polishing pads are starting to break down and they are not collecting as much dirt than usual. so would quilt batting work instead of my stock pilishing pads? any one have pics or what brand of quilt batting to use?

oh and i have two eheim pro IIs 2028 on my 100 gal tank right now and they have three media baskets....

the bottom has ceramic rings witha course blue pad on the the top and teh top two trays have eheim sub pro. would it be ok if i had one complete basket just for mech. filtration?

Howdy,

Your Eheims are more than sufficient to filter your tank. And you have 2 gal substrat pro, that's plenty for a 100 gal with the fish in your signature line.

However, "cloudy" water still sounds more like bacterial bloom than particles. Or did you recently insert new sand/gravel? Is your tank properly cycled? Did you use medications recently? Power outage? Are you using the fine, white filter pad on top of the substrate pro?

well i recently did a water change and cleaned out the filters.. so i think i might of washed away to much bb in the tank. nope the sand was put in the tank wheni first started... no medications or power outages and for the filter pad its the one that the canister came with. but the pads in the filter right now is breaking down so i think ima buy so quilt batting since alot of people says it works and its very cheap

Quilt batting works great for filtering.

Try Seachem Matrix. I put a liter in my XP3 about 5 weeks and another 750 mL this past weekend. My tank has been very clear ... and without too much effort since it went into my filter. I didn't expect it to work so well.

His filters already have ehfisubstrat pro, which is far superior to matrix. So this will not help his problem at all.

I though this was from a bacteria bloom? Are you still reading ammonia levels after WCs?
