Med Salt For Fahaka

I was wondering if it was good for a Fahaka to have Medicated Salt in the Tank...I added some and i suppose it's ok because i heard some Fahakas are brackish water. Please Help i need to know soon thanks
Fahakas are totally fresh, don't add salt.
most freshwater fish actually benefit from a small dosage of salt ....do you have any justification for your statement?
no i do know quite a bit about the topic ...i had asked the question in hope of someone more knowledgable about the topic to enlighten me with reasons why salt may be bad for fahakas, i couldn't think of any reasons....My justification is that they aren't brackish water fish. You asked if they needed salt in their water, and like I say, they don't.

Tonic salt isn't the same as marine salt so we aren't talking about 'true' brackish water here. I would only recommend adding salt to aid the healing of injuries.
As far as I know the family of puffers originated in salt water. As a result, most FW puffers will tolerate brackish water, but I would not do this long term. Water changes will keep your puffer in the best condition, tonic salt or not.

It seems that up until you answer not very many people were reading the question properly before spitting out jibba jab.
So ya i just recieved the little guy he's about 3 inchs and i found out that the batch seemed alittle shaky so i decided to add some maybe to fix it up alittle. It wont be long term though...thanks again
mine is like 3'' can it break the shell of a mussel?... At the moment i'm feeding it blood worms, snails, krill and live ghost shrimp...I'll go buy some mussels soon as long as i know he can eat them
